Proposals announced by Ofsted to overhaul social work inspections have been welcomed as an opportunity to end a ‘blame culture which is dragging the profession down', according to the British Association of Social Workers (BASW).
The regulator is currently consulting on plans to conduct ‘no notice inspections' and focus on direct observations of social work practice as measures to implement key recommendations of Dr Eileen Munro's review into child protection.
