Securing a strong future for Buckinghamshire, creating vibrant spaces and thriving communities is at the heart of everything we do as a council. This means we must be bold in how we shape our places. That is particularly true in our county town of Aylesbury, where the challenges facing the high street – declining footfall, the rise of online retail, and wider economic pressures – are being felt as acutely as anywhere in the country.

It's critical that as a council we lead on bringing positive change to benefit residents and communities across our county. That's what we are doing in our town centres. These places are not just about retail, they are the economic, cultural and social heart of our communities – where people live, work, meet and build their futures. When we talk about regeneration, we are not just talking about buildings or infrastructure, but about creating the right conditions for people and businesses to thrive.
