Within minutes of the fantastic Dr Fox becoming the first defence (or war) secretary to resign since Profumo – presumably on the grounds of being able to spend a bit less time with friends than heretofore – Diary was overwhelmed with emails and tweets linking the seemingly delayed announcement to Oliver Letwin's embarrassing morning routine.
