Bristol City Council's cabinet member for housing, Cllr Anthony Negus, has said the authority has made a number of improvements to its benefits service.
Cllr Negus said eight new temporary staff had been seconded to the council's processing team to ensure claims were dealt with as quickly as possible, and they were also working on a new online system to speed up inquiries.
