More than 60% of Britons are afraid the Government's benefit cuts from 1 April will 'plunge people into poverty' according to a new poll from Unite.

Raising concerns about the wider economic impact of the welfare reforms – which will see housing benefit caps and the so-called 'bedroom tax' – the union also found residents would reduce their spending on essentials because of the cuts.
