The UK's four children's commissioners this week made public their opposition to the Government's welfare reforms, arguing that changes such as the household benefit cap would have a ‘serious negative impact' on ‘hundreds of thousands' of youngsters.

The commissioners for England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland signed a joint statement on 31 January, urging ministers to reconsider proposals.
