Bexley LBC has been criticised by the local government ombudsman for serious flaws in its handling of a major child protection investigation.
The ombudsman asked the council to apologise to the complainant, pay her legal fees – amounting to £7,741 – and also £5,000 damages for distress, inconvenience and outrage caused.
