London Centre for Excellence has launched an initiative aimed at saving £160m by cutting fuel bills at London councils. Already the energy procurement strategy to has helped Haringey trim its gas and electric costs by £300,000 and the centre director Ken Cole said: ‘Costs can vary by almost 80% between authorities. The action plan gives councils the tools and confidence they need to drive down costs.'
