A war of words has broken out between councils and the Department for Education (DfE) following last week’s High Court ruling over Building Schools for the Future (BSF).

A war of words has broken out between councils and the Department for Education (DfE) following last week's High Court ruling over Building Schools for the Future (BSF).

The five of the six authorities – Luton Council, Waltham Forest and Newham LBCs, Nottingham City Council and Kent CC – signed off their BSF deals before the DfE axed the scheme. Therefore, the court ruled DfE was unlawful for failing to consult the councils.
