The Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) was slated by MPs last week as a ‘second division' ministry. The department was criticised at a meeting of the public accounts committee, which was looking at the Thames Gateway. Committee chairman Edward Leigh said ‘there is perceived to be a lack of leadership' at the DCLG to spearhead this particular programme.
