Communities secretary, Hazel Blears, will be a keynote speaker at the National Association of Local Councils' (NALC) Leadership in action event on 30 January. The London event will be show how local communities can get more control and say over the way services are delivered to them. It will also explore the vital contribution elected public servants, including parish and town councillors, make to community governance, leadership and empowerment.
