The leader of Reading Council has written directly to prime minister, David Cameron, to complain about the coalition's proposed cut in solar feed-in tariffs (FiT), after it was confirmed many local schemes would not be viable following the change.

Jo Lovelock approached Number 10 as local government intensifies its opposition to proposals to slash the FiT to by 50%.
