Audit Commission chairman, Michael O'Higgins, has been appointed as a non-executive director of the Treasury Board. He will take up the three-year post in October, alongside former chair of the Food Standards Agency and National Consumer Council, Dame Deirdre Hutton, and current chair of the Financial Services Authority, Sir Callum McCarthy. Permanent secretary, Nick Macpherson, welcomed the three, and said: ‘They bring extensive experience to the board, and I look forward to working with them.'
