Brighton & Hove City Council has outlined measures designed to help reduce the use of plastic bags. Cllr Maria Caulfield, from the city's Sustainability Commission, explained: ‘We are currently developing a Brighton & Hove-branded and artist-designed "Bag for life," using a material made from recycled plastic bags. We will also be organising a seminar for local retailers in the city to share our research into the alternatives.'
