An 18-year-old studying for his A-levels has become Britain's youngest councillor, after winning a seat on Brentwood DC. William Lloyd was able to stand for the Conservatives after the age limit was lowered from 21 to 18. The student won his seat after defeating the sitting Liberal Democrat councillor. Mr Lloyd hopes to combine his duties with studying for a politics degree at Brunel University in London.
