Prime minister, Gordon Brown, has reaffirmed his commitment to use more citizens' juries to take decisions on how local public services are run. He used the monthly Downing Street press conference to announce plans to ‘step up' proposals for local government democracy and constitutional reform. The prime minister described citizens' juries as a ‘major agenda that I don't think is lightly to be dismissed'.
