The Government has awarded Birmingham City Council £588m in a PFI deal to improve its road network. The funding is the biggest ever announced for a highways contract and the council is now securing offers from its two approved bidders. ‘Our priority is to restore Birmingham's network,' said cabinet member for transportation and street services, Cllr Len Gregory.
