Birmingham City Council has welcomed the Government’s plans for an education commissioner in the city.

Birmingham City Council has welcomed the Government's plans for an education commissioner in the city, and the appointment of top mandarin Sir Bob Kerslake to review the corporate governance.

The troubled city has already accepted the problems to be addressed – as outlined in its own Kershaw report, which was issued last week, and the Clarke report on the Trojan Horse affair which was published on Tuesday.
