Telford and Wrekin Council launched a consultation on a 4.3% rise in council tax for 2008/09. The council says its three-year budget plans include more investment in services and regeneration, with increased efficiency savings. The council claims it will increase it's savings to around £9m by 2010/11, and will cut council tax increases to below 3.5% in the same period. It also hopes to reduce reserves and invest to lever more external funding into the area. Priorities include regeneration, tackling anti-social behaviour and streetscene.
