~Peterborough City Council~'s building control service is aiming to increase to 50% the proportion of applications it responds to within 10 days. The building control service currently responds to 25% of applications 10 days after it has received them. The team also announced this week it handled more than 1,500 applications in 2005, compared with 1,418 in the previous year. And it carried out more than 5,000 inspections, compared with 4,320 in 2004.
