Case Study One – Infrastructure Plus
With the current contract for highway maintenance functions due to end in April 2014, it proved a timely opportunity to explore a new approach,  encompassing much more than routine operations and investment in our roads.

Traditionally maintenance and construction contracts have been delivered on input/output type specifications, but through Infrastructure Plus the council wanted to secure a partnership focused too on supporting the prosperity and skills agenda in the county.

Of course, improving quality and speed and increasing customer involvement and satisfaction, were a given, but Staffordshire County Council crucially wanted to maximise opportunities for greater collaborative working on services not just for the council, but for public and private partners across neighbouring authorities too.
