Women workers have won an equal pay case against Bury MBC, Unison has announced – after the local authority appealed against an earlier decision.

The Employment Appeal's decision confirms more than 900 mainly-low paid women – such as carers, cooks, cleaners and school crossing patrol attendants – are entitled to compensation for the years they were paid less than male council workers doing comparable jobs.
