More than three in five people (62%) don't have time to volunteer in Big Society initiatives delivering services previously run by councils, according to an Ipsos MORI poll.
The survey, commissioned by insurer Zurich Municipal, also showed almost half of adults (47%) thought the idea of charities running public services would be a bad thing.
