Recruitment specialist James Caan has urged local government to hire the best people it can while we are in a recession. Speaking at the launch of new recruitment firm, Attenti, Mr Caan said: ‘If ever there was a time to recruit the top people, it's now'. Mr Caan – who is also one of the stars of TV's Dragon's Den – is chief executive and founder of recruitment firm Hamilton Bradshaw Human Capital, the parent company of Attenti. Managing director, Neville Wilkinson, who has 10 years recruitment experience in local government and the public sector, heads the new executive search and recruitment services firm. Mr Caan also claimed he invested in people, rather than ideas, as people are the best assets – hence his investment in the ‘doggy treadmill' on Dragon's Den.
