Local government should change its approach to outside recruitment agencies to focus on value rather than cost, according to a think-tank with close links to the Government. A report by Demos into the use of intermediary recruiters argued they were a key new resource issue as they had implications for business success, job satisfaction, equality and integration. The group also predicted the traditional divide between extremely personalised recruitment for highly-skilled jobs and relatively-standardised recruitment processes for low-skilled jobs would end.
