Floods recovery minister, John Healey, has backed calls to establish a national network of control centres to respond to future emergencies. The proposal is one of the proposals in a report by Sir Ken Knight into the responses of the fire and emergency services to last summer's floods, which makes a total of 28 recommendations on sharing resources and training. Sir Ken also calls for the sharing of information on flood planning and weather risks, media responses and communications. His report will now feed into the final report by Sir Michael Pitt, who is reviewing the flood crisis.
