Town hall bosses have urged the Government to give councils tougher powers to tackle rogue taxi drivers.

The Local Government Association (LGA) has backed proposals from the Law Commission to reform the regulation of taxi and private hire operators, including giving local authorities more powers to intervene when they have concerns about a vehicle or driver.
