Prime minister, David Cameron, has sketched proposals to reinvigorate the controversial ‘right to buy' initiative for social housing tenants, as part of a wider plan to kick-start economic growth.

Speaking to the BBC in Manchester, Mr Cameron said he wanted to increase discounts available to current tenants, to help them purchase properties, and plans to use receipts from the policy to fund 100,000 more affordable homes.
