Trade union, Unite, has launched a new campaign to highlight the growing number of charity workers worried about their jobs.
The union's ‘Unite for our society' campaign highlights the funding shortfall of almost £5bn, which charities are currently facing from both local and central government. According to a survey by the union, 62% of charity workers were worried about cuts to funding, while 60% were concerned about job security, and more than half had reported redundancies in their organisations. Unite, which has 60,000 third sector members, is to host a series of conferences, where workers can get legal advice on being made redundant.
