Young carers should be identified early and given more care and support,says Association of Directors of Children's Services.

Young carers should be identified early and given more care and support, a joint review by the Association of Directors of Children's Services and the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services has concluded.

The review also suggests the experience of young people and their families should be given greater prominence in developing support services and identifying best practice. The review builds on the 2009 ‘Working Together to Support Young Carers' study.
