Infrastructure giant, Carillion, has announced it has a record number of contracts in the pipeline, including £1.1bn of support services deals.

The firm said in its latest statement to the City that there was a growing number of outsourcing opportunities in the British public sector, particularly with councils which faced pressure to cut costs.
