The chancellor has been told Cambridgeshire could lead the UK out of the recession. Council and business leaders joined together at a special meeting in Cambridge to present the case to Alistair Darling and minister for the East of England, Barbara Follett. Chief executive, Mark Lloyd, explained: ‘Council and business leaders came together to deliver a strong message that Cambridgeshire is ready for the challenge and the Government must play its part.'
