The care sector's second-biggest provider of local authority services has dismissed Unison's suggestions it could follow Southern Cross into financial trouble.

Executives at Four Seasons Health Care reacted angrily to publication of a Unison report on 6 June, warning the firm faced ‘severe financial difficulties' which could lead to a taxpayer-funded bailout in order to protect care home residents funded by councils.
