A multinational catering firm remains upbeat about its public sector work, despite the squeeze on government finances. Richard Cousins, chief executive of Compass UK, said the pressure on public bodies to cut spending was providing opportunities for the firm to expand its reach in the sector. He added that public sector outsourcing would reach the same level as private business outsourcing in the long term. The firm revealed it was performing well across all sectors, and was making good progress in extending its reach in the healthcare sector.
