The Centre for Public Scrutiny has launched its first-ever Good Scrutiny Awards to ‘celebrate the achievements' of councillors who ‘take on the responsibility of holding decision-makers to account'. Jessica Crowe, the centre's executive director, said: ‘There is a growing acceptance of the benefit of effective scrutiny'.
