The Labour-led Local Government Association (LGA) has agreed changes to ‘strengthen governance' that will take effect in September.

Senior LGA figures said the changes, which come 16 months after Joanna Killian officially took up the role of chief executive, would make the organisation ‘more cohesive' and shift control to the board.
