Suffolk CC has announced plans to transfer all of its libraries to a charitable trust.

Suffolk CC has announced plans to transfer all of its libraries to a charitable trust, which will be predominantly funded by a grant from the local authority.

The county wants to establish an industrial and provident society to run 44 libraries, and plans to transfer staff under TUPE. ‘Suffolk CC retains its duties to provide libraries, while creating a service fit for the 21st century,' said portfolio holder for libraries, Cllr Judy Terry.
