Disability charities have criticised latest official statistics on the number of people claiming incapacity benefits, arguing they fail to tell the real story.
Figures released by the Department for Work and Pensions last week showed that 39% of people claiming employment and support allowance (ESA) have been assessed as fit for work, with a further 17% being judged as able to do some work with support.
