Portsmouth City Council has finally done the sensible thing and donated Wymering Manor,'the UK's most haunted house', to a charity trust – which in Diary's imagination consists of a group of feckless teenagers armed with torches and ouiji boards.

The authority donated the £375,000 16th century Grade II building to Wymering Manor Trust, after claiming it could no longer afford to pay for the building's upkeep.
