Sir John Boynton, one of the founders of SOLACE and a former director of The MJ, or Municipal Journal Ltd, as it was then, has died at the age of 88. Sir John was chief executive of Cheshire CC 1974-79 and the first president of SOLACE in 1974. After retirement from Cheshire, he supervised the elections in Zimbabwe and was involved with various bodies.
