The director of neighbourhood services at Erewash BC, Trevor Holden, has been appointed to the top job at Breckland DC, starting in July. Mr Holden replaces the former chief executive, Becky Hellard, who is now a strategic director at Bradford City Council (The MJ, 10 January). Ms Hellard agreed to ‘step back' from her post in November, while an investigation into ‘a number of issues' concerning her took place (The MJ, 16 November). The investigation found there was no case to answer and she returned to the council, but handed in her notice in December to pursue ‘other challenges and interests'. She was later appointed to the Bradford City Council job. When Mr Holden joins there will be a handover period with the current interim chief executive, Keith Davis. Mr Holden joined Erewash BC in 2004 after a career in the RAF, where he attained the rank of wing commander. ‘I want to build on Breckland's reputation as an innovative council,' he said.
