A chief executive is set to return to a council he previously led five years ago. North Tyneside MBC confirmed it was to appoint John Marsden as its chief executive for one year. Mr Marsden, who was previously chief executive of North Tyneside up until February 2005, will join the council in March next year, from North Yorkshire CC. The move follows the resignation of Andrew Kerr, who is moving to Wiltshire Council. Elected mayor, Cllr Linda Arkley, said: ‘When he worked for North Tyneside previously, Mr Marsden supported it in improving from one of the poorest-performing councils to one of the fastest-improving in the country.'
