Employer: Falkirk Council Salary: £86,086 Closing Date: 24 July 2011 Acting as Chief Finance Officer (Proper Officer) in terms of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973, you will provide overarching strategic advice to ensure effective financial management to the Council, its Committees and Services. In addition you will undertake the role of Treasurer for Central Scotland Joint Fire & Rescue Board. Reporting to the Chief Governance Officer, you will provide strategic support and direction to ensure the efficient management and delivery of a range of high quality services in the following areas: Legal Services, Democratic Services, Licensing, Members' Services, Election Administration, Corporate Records, Printing and Registration. For each post you will be educated to degree level or equivalent and hold an appropriate professional or management qualification and will also be eligible for membership of an appropriate Chartered Institute. A team player, you will demonstrate effective leadership and have experience of managing change within reducing resources. You will have highly developed interpersonal and communication skills and be confident in motivating and challenging people and developing decision making.
