Cornwall CC's chief executive is moving to Shropshire CC to continue the move to a single council. Sheila Healy has been appointed interim chief executive from January 2009, and will remain until September, when the newly-elected councillors will decide who will head up the new unitary authority. Cllr Malcolm Pate, chairman of the implementation executive, which is the group of councillors overseeing the move, said: ‘The fact that we have moved quickly to make this appointment means there will be stability and no break in the work towards Shropshire Council.'
