We have recently seen numerous flagship projects successfully completed, such as the First Direct Arena and the Trinity Shopping Centre, and there are plenty more in the pipeline – all guided by our Core Strategy which plans for the longer-term regeneration and growth of the district over a 15 year period. We are therefore looking for a Chief Planning Officer who can transcend the traditional constraints of the role and enable sustainable growth and development across the city, working closely with elected Members and our partners across all sectors. Senior planning expertise and experience will be a given (gained in the public or private sector), but candidates will also need excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to lead a large and busy service which oversees a complex range of projects and developments.
