Children's centres are making a positive contribution to improving the lives of children and their families, according to a report published by Ofsted. Ofsted has recommended councils support schools and children's centres in strategic planning, and in monitoring and evaluating the impact of their services. They should also ensure training is made available for managers of children's centres to develop self-evaluation.
