Westminster sources this week revealed that Birmingham, Bristol and Leeds are close to signing-off the next phase of City Deals.

Westminster sources this week revealed that Birmingham, Bristol and Leeds are close to signing-off the next phase of City Deals, under which ministers will hand new powers to the increasingly-devolved cities.

Bristol was the only major city to approve plans for a new, directly-elected mayor through a referendum on 3 May, while both Birmingham and Leeds rejected the idea.
