Cities will be able to pick and choose which powers and services should devolve to directly-elected mayors, decentralisation minister, Greg Clark, has announced.

Publishing its response to the consultation What can a mayor do for your city?, the Government this week declared its intention to use new powers in the Localism Act to negotiate tailored deals with cities.
