Norwich City Council has defended its actions after it was revealed that the local authority signed a £17.5m contract with troubled housing contractor, Connaught, 10 days before the firm finally collapsed.

Norwich City Council has defended its actions after it was revealed that the local authority signed a £17.5m contract with troubled housing contractor, Connaught, 10 days before the firm finally collapsed.

The council signed the deal on 27 August, despite ongoing publicity that the firm was struggling financially.
