City figures join forces to demand changes in funding distribution

The mayor of Liverpool and the city's bishop will join forces with leaders from four other major cities next year.

The mayor of Liverpool and the city's highly-regarded bishop will join forces with leaders from four other major cities next year, to demand changes to the Government's distribution of local authority funding.

An event, organised by the Liverpool duo and set for 8 January, will involve Birmingham's Sir Albert Bore; Bristol mayor, George Ferguson; Newcastle leader, Cllr Nick Forbes; and Sheffield leader, Cllr Julie Dore.
